IMAS acted as the exclusive financial adviser to Miles Archer Limited (“Miles Archer”) on the sale of its business and assets to Clear Insurance Management (“Clear”).

Miles Archer is a commercial insurance broker established in 2001 by Paul Davidson. The business is entirely commercial and has a particular focus on the Property Owners segment, with clients ranging from single property buy-to-let owners, residents’ associations and right up to very large property owners. The business has a number of Appointed Representative relationships in the property management sector and is based in Biggin Hill.

Clear is a leading independent Chartered insurance broking group established in 2001 and an Insurance Times Top 50 broker, employing more than 650 staff across multiple locations and placing more than £300m of premiums annually. The group is backed by Goldman Sachs and is among the most active acquirers in the UK insurance distribution sector, having made more than 40 acquisitions to date.

IMAS was retained by Miles Archer in early 2023 to advise the business and its owner on its strategic options. IMAS introduced the business to a small number of carefully selected parties that we believed represented a strong business and cultural fit for Miles Archer’s clients. IMAS advised Miles Archer on all aspects of the transaction.
